Waterbury is centrally located between Stowe, Montpelier and Burlington. It is an economic hub with Green Mountain Coffee Roaster and Ben and Jerry’s headquarters located in Waterbury. Both offer tours, but Ben and Jerry’s gives way free ice cream during their tour! There is downtown Waterbury and Waterbury Center, both make up Waterbury as a whole.  Even though Waterbury is a small village there is no shortage of fine dining. 
 
Waterbury Center is the historic center of Waterbury with a small three corner village. Just north of Waterbury Center you’ll find Michaels On The Hill, offering local food done in a high-end fashion. On the way to Michaels drop in the Alchemist Cannery for some locally crafted beer.
Downtown Waterbury is where the majority of shops and restaurants are located. For great choices of wine and unique country market checkout Cork, owned and operated by a good family friend Danielle Nichols. Stop in tell her we sent you and enjoy a nice glass of wine. Also if you are looking for a special place for dinner try Hen of the Wood, another high-end eatery offering locally sourced food.

Across the board the Waterbury market continued to do well in 2011 compared to the declines in median and average prices seen in 2010 compared to 2009. Even with the floods from Hurricane Irene, Waterbury remained strong boosted by the growth of Green Mountain Coffee Roasters. As we move into 2012 it will be important to see what develops with the state office buildings as well as the full recovery. We are optimistic the Waterbury market will continue to move in a positive direction.
